Nnnnnnnnnnngh I'm so tired. And have been for a while now. My sleep schedule is so damn FUBAR'd what is this. And even when I am actually feeling kind of awake I still have absolutely no creative energy. So annoying. Especially considering that before this started I'd pretty much just come off hiatus everywhere and just intro'd a new character and god good timing there, brain. Nnnnnnnnngh, I say. Nnnnnngh. /)_(\ I've tried to do a little tagging but it takes me forever to type anything out and I'm never happy with it. I hate it when this happens.

Homestuck is not quite as long as I thought it was. Took me like a day to reread it all. And that's including the time I took to take notes. So now I have this, like, 52-page document on my thumb drive full of notes on the main characters, every single Pesterlog, and transcriptions of Rose's GameFAQs entries. So I guess at least I haven't been completely unproductive this past week and a half or so, inasmuch as you can call all that productive.

I am not a complete failure at Cave Story so far and this is a wonderful accomplishment to me. And by not a complete failure I mean that it takes me on average 5 tries to figure out what the fuck I'm doing against a boss instead of an average of infinity tries. Just managed to beat Curly at the start of the Sand Zone. It took me far to long to realize that that bubble thing she gets when you use missiles on her is, in fact, exclusive to missiles and not "oh shit she's immune to attack until she does something or other? Is it when she charges? Augh no it's not that oh fuck she killed me."

I did mention that I haven't been getting much in the way of productive sleep lately.

So today on "The Status of AF's Computer and Internets Access" AKA "Why Do You Keep Saying You're Going to Disappear and Then Not Do It?"!

Dad is apparently OK with me continuing to borrow his laptop so I continue to be semi-around. (Still no LJ Login, though.) My computer is beginning to take steps toward being functional again. Sort of. Dad is working on it, but.

Allow me to paraphrase.

Dad: Look up your computer model online and find out what kind of hard drive it has.
Me: Are you absolutely sure it's the hard drive that's broken?
Dad: Yeah, it gets to where it has to boot and then crashes, it's definitely the hard drive.
Me: Alright. *Googles* It's a 250 gig SATA drive.
Dad: *Goes ~*~shopping~*~*
Me: *Derps around on the computer*
Dad: *Comes back with a 1 TB drive*
Me: ...That is an awful lot of bytes. Do I really need that many bytes?
Dad: I also got a new optical mouse for the laptop so you can stop using the touch pad. It's red.
Me: It sure is.
Dad: *Installs shiny new hard drive*
Me: Does it work now?
Dad: I haven't turned it on yet. *Grabs CD for installing Windows*
Me: Does it work now?
Dad: ...It still gives me the blue screen. The good news is you've got quadruple the hard drive space now! :D
Me: ... :| This is why I asked if you were sure.
Dad: Get up for a minute so I can actually look up the error it gives me.
Me: ... *Surrenders laptop*
Dad: OK, I see, I need this other CD that I need to get from work. Tomorrow. That should work.
Me: I am never going to have a working computer ever again. ._.

So yeah! In other news I stuck a small Bob Ross reference in one of Bulkhead's samples (and finally submitted the app today *fistpump*) and now I really want to watch some Bob Ross. It does not appear to be easy to find online, which I guess isn't that surprising, considering its age and the fact that it's a show about painting and all, but, dammit, want. :< Such a soothing voice and such damn gorgeous (and fairly soothing themselves!) paintings. And he makes them look so damn easy. So very amazing.

Well, looks like Dad'll finally be coming home tomorrow, I think, so it looks like I'm due to be sliding back onto complete and total full hiatus. :( (I was expecting him today, but turns out he wasn't driving all the way in one day.)

So, I don't really particularly care for Bulkhead's design in Human Error. I think it's the half-shirt that does it. Half-shirts are inherently silly. Either way, it's not what I want as his design in CnC, and that involves putting a new design together.

This new design involves a bigass sweater, and I've just got this mental image of this kid from the boonies going to college on a football scholarship and every month or so he gets a package from home with a lot of food and a bulky, kind of hideous, hand-knit sweater and getting these packages make his week every time and he wears the crap out of those sweaters.

Long story short now I really want to see a college AU of Animated. It would be great. Bulkhead and Bumblebee as roomies, Optimus as the upperclassman who so generously and patiently tries to tutor them in history, the Elite Guard is a fraternity, etc., etc., etc. Humor me here, guys.

So, chat tonight discussed the fact that Transformers in srw_unlimited would be awesome with some implications that I should get on that. Of course, if I were to do this (and that's kind of a big if there), I would need castmates like whoa. The Autobots, after all, are a team and, more the point, a family, and, basically, you can't have just one. Also if (still a big if!) I were to app, it would more than likely be from the most recent series, Animated, rather than the classic 80's cartoon. Which is good, because Animated has a lot more in the way of plot and character depth. :V

But since probably none of you SRWUG guys are familiar with Animated, here's a couple of choice episodes to serve as examples of the show's tone and range, and, uh, basically what it's like, I guess. So you know what you're getting into. Both are from season one and, uh, actually out of order, but since it's a fairly episodic series, especially in season one, that doesn't particularly matter. I put them in this order because Headmaster is fairly light in tone and Thrill of the Hunt is daaaark and would probably suffer a little from complete lack of context. I'd've liked to get some proper Decepticons in here, but anything with Decepticons pretty much requires a lot of context and would probably work best in that context, so. If you want to see Decepticons beyond that taste of Blitzwing in Thrill of the Hunt, go actually watch the series.

Anyway, basically what you need to know: Some millions of years ago, the Autobots and Decepticons fought the Great War, and the Autobots won, exiling the Decepticons from Cybertron. In the relative present (Animated takes place some time in the 22nd century), Optimus Prime's dinky little space bridge repair crew stumbled across the Cosmic MacGuffin known as the AllSpark and ended up taking it with them to Earth (specifically Detroit) to keep it out of Decepticon hands. Blah blah picked up token human sidekick yada yada adventures and shenanigans. Note that the Animated Autobots are phenomenally bad at the "Disguise" aspect of "Robots In Disguise" (which, honestly, would probably work pretty well for SRWUG).

SO I JUST NOW NOTICED THAT THIS ICON'S KEYWORDS ARE TYPOED. It says "Edgewroth" instead of "Edgeworth". I've had this icon for months and I never noticed and nobody ever mentioned it. I kinda feel like a moron now durrrrr. And I can't change it because that'll break all the comments and entries I've made with it and I use this icon an awful lot and waugh.

Blaaarrrggghhhh this is the first time I've so much as logged into this account since my computer imploded. I am borrowing my Dad's laptop while he is away. Last I heard he was coming home on Thursday? So I am kind of sort of around until at least then, buuutttt there's no Firefox on this computer and consequently no LJ Login and aaauuuuuggh. >: If there's something that really needs my attention kick me on AIM or something and I'll get to it, but other than that, do not expect much in the way of presence from me for. A while. Waaauuuuugh I have no idea when my computer is getting fixed waaaaauuuuuugh.

This computer is set up in the living room and the TV is rather distracting sometimes. I've been watching a lot of Food Network. Alton Brown is wonderful and Good Eats is pretty much everything a cooking show should be. He explains things. But sometimes by brother watches dumb cartoons and I'm just like "CAN'T YOU WATCH TV DOWNSTAIRS AT LEAST MOM DOESN'T HAVE TO HEAR YOU"

Also the lighting here is terrible no wonder Dad's so blind.

Bah, C&C apps closed last night and I didn't finish Bulkhead's app in time so I'll have to sit on it for a week. At least I only have the 3rd person sample to finish. I just. Have. To decide what to write. I'm leaning towards something with painting but broad subject is broad and I need some sort of goal in my writing. *Derps around*

Should reread OotS for the billionth time and write a history for Redcloak that isn't five miles long. Why so easily enabled, me? >: Also decide on new pope-related username, register it, and transfer icons. Because even though the Porter'll be turning him human, the very idea of using a PB for Redcloak makes me cringe. There's no way I'd find one I like, even putting aside the eventual need for SPOILERS. For the username, I am leaning towards evilgreenpope. I am open to better suggestions.

This is a screencap of Optimus Primal and Rattrap. Not a very good one, sure, but it's got Optimus and Rattrap next to each other, and that's what matters. See, Word of God has stated that Rattrap here is 5 feet tall, but hasn't stated the exact heights of anyone else, leaving us to sort it all out from Rattrap. The thing is that I suck at visually measuring scale. Which is why I'm asking you guys. If Rattrap is 5 foot even, how tall is Optimus?

But, anyway, arts, right. I swear, nothing improves my arting like not arting for a few months or so. It's weird. So, uh, yeah, fairly pleased with the results of these ventures. I am far from being an excellent artist, but I've certainly evolved past being a bad one. (And I should hope so; it'd be depressing to still be awful after this long.)

He doesn't really have any particularly important possessions and all the really important plot stuff happens in seasons 2 and 3 as far as Significant Memories go. Best idea I've got is the memory of haha turns out the stasis pod's hatch is sealed fancy that! Almost feels like a cheap cop-out, but, yeah, I guess dying is pretty much the most important thing that happens to him in the first season. :V

I feel a little bad about it, if only because it means that Guy'll briefly have to go on walkabout in between losing the ring and getting the Vuldarian powers and Figaro doesn't really need more soldiers going on walkabout. But it'll be a really brief walkabout! Like, I dunno, a week or something. He just needs to find his appropriate magical deus ex machina and then he'll be back with his magical weapony shapeshifting powers. And no more brain damage, which will mildly improve his personality!

Which means that Sanger needs to one-punch him and he needs to spend a stint as Nice Guy before this all happens. Shouldn't be too hard to finagle that.

I have decided this week is RvB canon review week. 1 DVD per day, then Relocated and what's up so far of Recreation on the last day. Grif's voice has been, eh, I don't want to say slipping, but I've been hearing it less distinctly as of late, and it's been way too long since I watched the whole series, so this has been overdue. Season 1 voices: Still pretty disorienting. But I'm feeling better about Grif already so it's all good! (That's why I didn't want to say it was slipping, because it isn't really if I can get it back by watching like a fourth of a season at once instead of just an episode once per week.)

Edgeworth is officially a lone canon warrior now bawwwww. Time to start fishing around dear_mun for castmates and crap. He's the only character I have at ME from a really popular canon and he's still the only one and wwhhhhyyyyyyyy. *Grumps around* A Dahlia would be really interesting right now, if only because Edgeworth only remembers the first half of 3-4. Honestly, most of his castmates right now, his general reaction to them would be "Go away. :|" but. I. I'd really like to play with that dynamic some. Because then after Edgeworth's been a dick to Phoenix for like months on end, he can remember 1-4 and feel like the douche he is and not be able to run away to Europe for once. It would be great. >:

So, I thought to myself, "I should go ahead and make icons for Rattrap for when I inevitably start playing him." And then I thought to myself, "Man, it'd be awesome to have a Rhinox account to throw around museboxes and crap because Rhinox is The Man. I should make some icons of him, too." And then I thought, "Man, I love everybody in this goddamn series, maybe I should icon them all just to be safe. But man that is a lot of iconning." And then, "Hey, I want to enable people into giving me castmates, right? And icons are hella hard to find, so it would help the enabling to have icons ready to provide for anyone...."

So, uh, yeah, I've got about 225 icons made already. I just finished episode 4. Yeah. Likely will make an icon post every 5 episodes/300 icons-ish. Hopefully this won't be too spammy.

Doing this has also had the unforseen consequence of making me question when to take Optimus from. I really like his original design, you see, and he makes some damn great faces, especially in gorilla mode, and there are some other advantages. Y'know what this means, right?
