It's a pretty good song. (Super-sappy romantic songs are kind of my secret weakness.)

So I'm in one of my super-productive get shit done moods, which is a pretty damn rare mood for me and I'd love to be able to take advantage of it, except that #1 on my Shit That Needs to Get Done List is practice driving and get a license. And, y'know. We got like 28 inches of snow over the past couple of days and ideal driving conditions that does not make. /)_(\ And we're expected to get even more snow. I wanted to have my license by March but this is looking increasingly unlikely!

At least a bunch of places do online job applications so this mood isn't entirely going to waste.

Maybe I'll, like, actually exercise later. Our poor neglected Wii Fit. I don't think it's been touched in like 6 months. Probably more, actually. When did August get to be six months ago?

Let's Play Legend of Legaia! Or AF would like people other than BF to know what she's talking about when she goes on about how Kemaro is the world's best rock-rabbit-creature-thing or how Che Delilas is hatred given polygon-rendered form! Now, I've seen a few Legend of Legaia (I will never abbreviate to an acronym for what I hope are obvious reasons) LP's out there, but they've all been video LP's, which kind of confuses me, because Legaia is a pretty long game, and, more importantly, a game in which one moves over the world map at a snail's pace and there are an awful lot of random encounters to be had. So this'll be a screencap LP, but I might do videos for important cutscenes and boss battles, but they'll be optional to watch and I'll still provide screencaps.

-I hate doing laundry forever.
-Driving tomorrow morning 9 AM I should sleep at a semi-reasonable hour tonight er um right.
-I'm likely going to start a screenshot LP of Legend of Legaia, so keep an eye out for that. And by that I mean I might very well post the first entry tonight or tomorrow because I've already got the screencaps because the intro is rather short.
-My life continues to be boring!

MONDAY AT 9 AM

Ignore that, it's a personal reminder. Time to try and unfuck my sleep schedule! Yaaaaay. Because driving while sleepy sounds like a terrible idea. Hopefully the weather will be nice.

So my computer is fully functional again! It's. Pretty disorienting, switching back from the laptop. Laptop has Vista, this has XP. Laptop's widescreen, this monitor is mostly square. And I'm not exactly pleased with how colors and shit show on this monitor. Color changes that I'd thought looked pretty smooth and gradual on the laptop look really sudden and high-contrast on this monitor. Unless it's on black, in which case CAN'T SEE SHIT, SON. So basically everything I did artwise on the laptop looks like shit on this monitor. /)_(\ I've tried fiddling around a little with the color settings of the monitor but haven't keyed on anything I like. It'd be nice if I could, like, fiddle with the contrast directly, but I can't. All I can fiddle with is the Red, Green, and Blue settings. Annoying. Is there some, like, super secret ideal monitor setting? That would be incredibly convenient. But, eh, maybe these settings are more right and the laptop just made everything look wonky I don't know. Then again this monitor always has been kind of a little wonky on the color settings. Things look different depending on what angle I'm viewing the monitor at. Bizarrely things tend to look best when viewed from above, which is kind of inconvenient because my chair is definitely lower than the monitor.

Also my mouse is considerably bigger than the laptop's. It's funny because now I'm all like "whoa" about how big my mouse is yet I distinctly recall being all "whoa" about how small the laptop's is.

Also apparently VVVVVV's save files aren't kept in the same place as the rest of the game? Because I had the game saved on my thumb drive and when I started it up on this computer it started from the beginning. So now I have to do everything again. Including Doing Things the Hard Way. ;_;

But I have my music back and am sitting in a chair! :D

Holy shit guys I think my computer is going to be usable again soon. Actually it's usable at this very moment, but Dad's seeing if he can get some of my shit from the old harddrive off it and onto the new one. This is exciting! (Knowing my luck, it is likely to break the computer all over again, but I remain hopeful.) Oh man using a computer at a desk again where I can sit in a chair and clutter up the desk instead of my bed FUCK YEAH.

Guys this t-shirt is me. Just. Entirely. But the last thing I need is to buy more t-shirts. Alas.

When Titans Date is one of my favorite comic stories ever. Which is kind of odd, really, since it's just a little story from the Justice League Quarterly. A whopping 12 pages! And not a single person in costume to be seen. But my god it is basically nothing but lulz from start to finish.

Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle, has gotten sick and tired of being a pathetic and lonely nerd never having dates (because he's a pathetic and lonely nerd). So he's signed himself up for a dating service. Booster (accurately) predicts that the only way this can end is in hilarity, and so he drags Wally West (the Flash) and Bea DaCosta (Fire) to go watch the show.

Hilarity, as they say, ensues.

I am almost posting this more for the hilarious glitch rather than the bragging rights.

So! So! (God why do I say so so much there are other transitional words not that I even need to use one to start an entry I am such a good writer. Anyway!)

VVVVVV. It is a game. An indie game. An indie platformer. The pure distilled essence of platforming. Which is funny, because your character can't even jump! Instead, you reverse gravity with the push of a button. It is wonderful.

tl;dr bulleted list:
-Hella fun.
-Very hard in a way that is challenging instead of a way that is punishing.
-Pure platforming goodness with a minimal amount of bullshit.
-Awesome chiptune soundtrack.
-Probably the first 2D platformer I've ever beaten.
-Has a free demo you should at least try!
-Only costs $15 dollars for the full game

At the very least, I think everyone should give the demo a try. Also I'd like to point out that the game is longer than the demo implies. There's more than 5 levels in the game, not even counting the non-level bits to explore. (Also the levels in the demo are fairly short, especially the space station level.)
